Neely Spence Gracey

Neely Spence Gracey (waving on a run on Louisville’s Davidson Mesa) is one of Boulder’s top young distance runners, with a 2:34:55 marathon PB, a 1:09:59 half marathon PB and top-10 finishes in the both Boston Marathon and New York City Marathon in 2016. The native of Shippensburg, Pa., won eight NCAA Division II titles for Shippensburg University before becoming a professional runner in 2012. She was born on Boston Marathon Mondah in 1990 as her father, Steve Spence, was running the race. She has a long history in Boulder, initially living here when she was young as her dad trained here en route to earning a silver medal in the marathon at the 1991 IAAF World Championships, then living in Boulder in the summers while in college before finally moving to Boulder for good in 2014.
