Melody Fairchild

As a teen, Boulder native Melody Fairchild set national high school records and earned a bronze medal at the 1991 World Junior Cross Country Championships. She was an NCAA champion at the University of Oregon, won a U.S. title at 5,000 meters in 1997, ran a 2:44 marathon PR in 1999, placed 8th at the 2012 World Mountain Running Championships and earned many U.S. masters titles. Now she runs the Melody Fairchild Running Camp for high school girls and is the head coach for the Boulder Mountain Warriors Kid’s Running Club. Melody was inducted into the Colorado Running Hall of Fame in 2008.
