Hilary Allen

In August 2017, Boulder’s Hilary Allen was competing in Norway’s 50K Hamperokken Skyrace when she took an inadvertent stumble that sent her flailing 150 feet down a mountain. She suffered a collection of injuries that included two broken bones in her back, two broken ribs, lacerations “everywhere,” hundreds of stitches, two broken arms, a severely sprained left ankle and a popped ligament in her right foot. She worked her tail off in rehab and, miraculously, she returned to trail running action in 2018, placing 2nd, 6th and 1st in her first three international races.
